When our time and energy is put to positive use, there will always have outcomes that will drive us to where we are supposed to be. Robin Williams has taught me that I am the plant, and I can nourish myself if I use my time and energy wisely. I can become anything I aspire to become, if I don’t waste any of my time and energy.
A lot of aspirations and goals can’t be achieved without putting in any time or energy. My goal is to become a duck and attend University of Oregon after high school to major in Business Administration. If I wanted to get accepted into University of Oregon, I know I’m not going to be handed an acceptance letter – I need to earn it. By putting my time and energy into school, extra-curricular and sports, then I can achieve my goals. I won’t achieve anything if I put my time and energy into negative things and nourishing myself the wrong way.
Our time and energy can’t only be used for our aspirations, but, it could be also used for our Hawai’i. Kama’aina’s are extremely fortunate to call Hawai’i their home. It doesn’t matter what island they’re from because each island has something unique to it that makes Hawai’i an incredible place to live and visit. Not only are the beauty a key factor to Hawai’i, it’s also the variety of cultures that mesh with one another. In order to keep our islands beautiful and unique, we need to take care of the land one another. And the Hawai’i Tourism Industry L.E.I Convention reminded me that we need to malama more.
The Hawai’i Tourism Authority L.E.I Convention made me realized how lucky we are to live and grow up in Hawai’i. It’s also important to return to Hawai’i after college. As it is important for the HTA to continue to nourish the future youth of the Tourism Industry, it’s also as important for us to return to Hawai’i and nourish the future generation that are interested in the Tourism Industry. We need to acknowledge that the tourism industry isn’t about working in the hotels and catering to guests, but growing yourself as a person and there are many opportunities available for anyone.
