LEI Is Not A Program
By By Deyvon Savaiigaea-Lee
It was great to be able to attend and befriend students of other schools as well as meet the staff at the beautiful Royal Hawaiian Hotel, and the Hawaii Convention Center. Many times when visiting a hotel, I get the outside view and by you giving me this experience, I was able to see first hand the daily operations of the hotel industry and the many factors that are necessary to effectively run and manage a hotel.
The exposure directly involved with Hawaii’s tourism market had a tremendous impact on me. The opportunity to speak with hotel directors and ask them questions on how to do things, gave me a great advantage in my future endeavors of being in the hotel industry.
Thank you again for providing me the tools and opportunities that will give me an advantage in pursuing such an exciting field! The words you spoke of at last years convention, “L.E.I. is not a program! Leadership Exploration and Inspiration are things that you should carry with you in life,” have stayed with me till this day and will continue to try and exemplify these characters.
