Li’i Li’i Programs (Half-Day)

In partnership with Hawaii Tourism Authority and the Hawaii Department of Education, ClimbHI put on the 1st and hopefully annual LEI (Leadership Exploration Inspiration) West Oahu program on December 12, 2019. This was an opportunity to showcase the many career paths available in Hawaii’s hospitality industry out on the West Side of Oahu. Six high schools were invited to participate: Waianae, Nanakuli, Pearl City, Kapolei, Campbell, and Waipahu for a total of 180 students and 12 teachers. Here is an overview of the half-day event:

  • Site Visit- Arrival between 8:45a-9am to the exposure location (each school had an assigned hotel or restaurant for exposure)
  • Career Fair- at 10:15am students were picked up and dropped off at one central location, the Four Seasons (Ko Olina Ballroom) where they went right into a career fair (15 businesses and 5 post-secondary institutions attended)
  • Luncheon- at 10:45am the luncheon and formal program began
  • Departure- at 11:45am students re-boarded buses to head back to their schools
