Nonprofit ClimbHI has reached nearly 1,400 public high school students in the first two years of its Service Excellence Certificate program for the Hawaiʻi Department of Education Career and Technical Education Hospitality Pathway.

Organizations and businesses generously sponsored hundreds of certificates so Hawaiʻi students could enroll and complete the program with no additional cost. With funding from Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, the Service Excellence Certificate sponsorships have helped students from 21 schools statewide become more prepared for the workforce since it first launched in January 2020.

“We encourage Hawaiʻi businesses, organizations and hospitality leaders to support the next generation as they take their first steps in hospitality education,” states president and founder of ClimbHI Julie Morikawa.

Sponsorships are now available for next semester. Leeward O’ahu schools are eligible to submit sponsorship requests now by emailing info@climbhi.org
